On July 5, 2020 the Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Capricorn will be the final eclipse in the Cancer/Capricorn series that began two years ago on July 13, 2018.  Also the third eclipse within 30 days; this is a rare lunar month with a cosmic message of deep and powerful change making this summer eclipse season extra intense and ripe with evolutionary potential.

Lunar Eclipses are extra powerful Full Moons that stimulate intuition, activate changes within and in our outer world and provide openings for accelerated soul growth. This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn is in opposition to the Sun in Cancer. This polarity creates awareness around the needs of career, achievement and being out in the world with the needs of home, family and self-care. Without balance and attention, both areas of life will suffer.

Capricorn is a goal oriented earth sign that seeks to align its outer world with inner beliefs of integrity, responsibility, self-reliance, and commitment. Cancer is sensitive, empathetic and healing. With a natural alignment with home, family and personal safety, Cancer, the Mother, the caretaker is self-protective and protective of loved ones.

With Mercury retrograde in Cancer close to the Sun and opposite the Moon, communication during this Moon phase can be tender, extra emotional and at times overly sensitive leading to misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Take the time to hold space for everyone to share from the heart and be heard.

This Moon is ruled by Saturn the planet of maturity and reality that just moved back into the sign of Capricorn after a few months retrograde in Aquarius. Now in Capricorn, Saturn re-enforces a disciplined work ethic and commitment to tangible results. Along with Jupiter and Pluto these three planets are activating powerful changes in the world and in each of us.

Adding even more nuance to this Lunar Eclipse; Neptune in Pisces creates some exciting possibilities with Jupiter and Pluto in Capricorn. Creativity and intuition will be stronger than normal, feeding our aspirations for meaningful accomplishment. Pay attention to your dreams and make time for meditation or just being still so that you can hear your inner voice.

Lastly is Chiron and Mars, both in Aries, making a square to this Full Moon. This aspect compels us to address fears that inhibit our ability to reach for our personal greatness and emotional fulfillment. If we can reach deep and find the will to claim ourselves, we strengthen our potential for healing.

With five planets (Mercury, Neptune, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto) retrograde, this eclipse signals that it’s time to clarify and commit to our internal process that fortifies our outer work. With 8 planets in cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer and Capricorn) the need to initiate this process is powerful.

This last eclipse in the Cancer/Capricorn polarity (until 2028), is the completion of this series and offers a gift of rebalancing our inner world with our outer world. Helping us to understand that each end supports the other.

This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse illuminates an area of your life, or possibly two that is experiencing deep transformation and holds you to some level of responsibility. Something that you need to decide upon, change, release or seriously apply yourself to. A personal mission that has the potential to infuse you and your life with greater purpose and passion.

As the light of this Moon dims, an emotional shift occurs; you are ready for a leap of consciousness.
