FULL MOON IN SAGITTARIUS

JUNE 17, 2019

On June 17, 2019 at 1:30 am PDT the Moon will be Full in the sign of Sagittarius, 25 degrees, 53 minutes.

When the Moon is Full, the Sun and Moon are in direct opposition in sign and degree. This opposition is with the Sun in Gemini and the Moon in Sagittarius creating an energy that stimulates conversation and the desire to seek out new ideas and information. You might find yourself in deep thought, sifting through feelings, gaining an emotional awareness of yourself, another or some area of life that is ready to be explored. It is a stimulating energy that can facilitate optimism and the deep heart knowing that you are ready to embrace growth and realize your dreams.

Sagittarius is a fire sign that needs more freedom than most other signs. Sagittarius rules the hips and needs movement.  Physical, mental, emotional or spiritual movement or exploration that gathers new experiences and expands awareness. Seeing life as an adventure, Sagittarius is the sign that is on a personal quest to understand what life is about, seeking beyond what is known through the study of various cultures and philosophies. These vastly different experiences of life offer a broader view of the world, supporting Sagittarius to continually re-evaluate and restructure personal perspective on life.  As Sagittarius has a zest for freedom, life and movement, the shadow expression of this sign is going too far and too fast, landing Sagittarius in deep waters that can be difficult to get out of.

Jupiter, the planet that represents the development and maintenance of faith in life and also rules Sagittarius, is currently in the sign of Sagittarius, which magnifies this fiery far reaching energy. Sitting close by the Moon, Jupiter adds another layer of good will and optimism encouraging us to reach for personal growth and activate our deep desires. However, depending on the area of life this Moon affects in your chart, this can look different. For some it might even be a beacon of light into the dark, providing the emotional support and personal growth in addressing some personal challenge or even deep healing work.

It is important to remember that although there are times quite often that Jupiter’s generous jovial nature provides positivity that ends well, this same cosmic nature can lead to assuming, carelessness and over-expansion that can have unwanted or even disastrous results. We each can be affected by this energy so do be aware of it.

Additional aspects tied into the Full Moon are Jupiter square Neptune and Saturn sextile Neptune. Jupiter in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces challenges us to trust our intuition and be still enough to hear the messages from within. Believing that we deserve to realize our dreams and stepping into the unknown to keep going and growing.  Saturn in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces supports spiritual discipline and inner wisdom Spend some time in solitude, prayer or mediation to gain clarity about your next steps. Saturn’s message and gifts of strategic planning, discipline and commitment are the practical tools to activate your dreams into a sustainable reality.

For each of us, this lunar phase can provide an awareness of our perspective on life and how we got there.  What are your ideals? What personal principle guides you, is right for you? What feeds your faith in life? What expands your heart and aligns your vision with your future?

We all need to have some dreams.  Big and small. These dreams give us hope for without them life can become stagnant. This Moon illuminates our feelings and speaks to us that it is time to move forward in some meaningful way that feeds our heart and soul. That we are ready and we deserve to stretch further into life and to realize a dream or two. We are ready to do this soul work of growth.

Believe in yourself. Set your sights and aim well.

As one of my dear sweet friends says….ready, set, go!
