Pluto in Capricorn
Pluto moved into the sign of Capricorn on January 26, 2008, signaling a time for all of us to get serious, draw upon our wisdom and integrity and figure out what our work is individually and as a whole. Work that will bring significant meaningful change that will endure out in the world and within our personal lives. It is important to really get in touch with what is truly meaningful, and to honestly look at why we do what we do; what is the motivating factor?
What “great work” do you want to
do? What do you truly care about?
Pluto asks us to look at our hurts, our wounds and do the work to heal. If we refuse to look at our wounded places, it is likely we will relive them, repeating self defeating patterns that can be devastating and futile. Life can feel empty and meaningless. Taking time to think out what we do can be an important first step, bringing a more desired outcome.
Pluto also asks us to find our high destiny. To bring our own special truth to the world, whether it be the grandfather that can listen openly and lovingly to his troubled grandson; sharing wisdom garnered through a lifetime, or the film maker that documents the horrors of runaways on the street. Something that infuses life with meaning, with purpose.
is power. Power to reach deeply to heal, power to reach high to claim
our destiny. Or power that becomes distorted; the dark side of power.
Power that becomes obsessive, egotistical, and rules cruelly over
others. The kind of power that can result in the darkness of abuse and
destruction. The kind of power that ultimately caves into a black hole of despair, futility and emptiness.
Capricorn is an energy that wants to work hard, be serious, responsible and wise; and do “great work”, leaving it’s mark on the world in some way. To “be significant“ and "enduring". Capricorn needs to truly understand itself, honestly knowing what it wants to achieve. To achieve the goals that Capricorn wants to reach, tremendous self control is required out in the world and through it's actions. Then Capricorn can reach it's goals with honor and integrity. When this self control is used against the self, the shadow of emotional constriction and suppression within, and to life itself can occur. Emotional coldness is a path to loneliness. On this path Capricorn can become controlling and tyrannical towards others. Patronizing to those that should be an equal in life. Seeking power and approval out in the world, when that approval should be found within. Climbing to the top, pushing beyond healthy limits, working all the time - the workaholic. Out of touch with heart and life. Ambitious, wealthy, powerful and very lonely.
I think that Pluto in Sagittarius helped us collectively search and grow towards forming what we believe is meaningful and truly healing and transformational. Pluto will go retrograde on April 2, 2008 and will be moving back into Sagittarius retrograde on June 15, 2008, giving us a little more time to venture out and fully form what we believe is our collective higher purpose. On September 9, 2008 Pluto in Sagittarius retrograde will go direct. On November 27th, Pluto will move back into the sign of Capricorn, where it will remain for about the next 14 years revolutionizing our forward movement; compelling us to dig into the work of "doing what needs to be done; that which is solid, enduring, and wise; and because it is TIME" The deep healing of humanity and our planet.
