NEW MOON IN TAURUS

On May 4, 2019 at 3:45pm PDT we begin a new lunar cycle with the New Moon in Taurus, 14 degrees, 10 minutes. The dark and fertile night of the New Moon offers us the opportunity to get in touch with our feelings and put form to our desires. It’s a time to determine what kind of seeds we want to plant and how we can nurture them to fruition.  

The first earth sign, Taurus is sensual, drawn to comfort, pleasure and the security that the basic necessities of life provide.  Food, water, shelter and the money to keep them consistent.  Ruled by Venus, Taurus also needs connection to people, places and things that are desired, relaxing and appealing. Taurus energy teaches us to calm down, to get in touch with our bodies by living through our senses.  Drawn to the arts and nature, the high expression of Taurus is to find calm and peace within.  Like all signs, Taurus has a shadow expression of unyielding stubbornness that can turn into a raging bull or stuck in a deep rut of consistency, bored with life, and fearful of healthy change.   

This Moon asks you to open your heart to what you enjoy in life. The simple pleasures of good food, loving relationships and the beauty of nature. Lastly, although 11 degrees away and not quite a conjunction, Uranus in Taurus resonates with the New Moon by sign and sends us an important reminder. There may be changes needed to move us forward and out of any comfortable yet somewhat stale groove that no longer supports our true nature or desires. And very importantly,  to create from a place of authenticity, for that is how each of us will plant the appropriate seeds that will set in motion an outcome, a desire, a path or future that is genuine for us.
