NEW MOON IN ARIES

APRIL 5, 2019

There is something uplifting about this time of year.  In the northern hemisphere after the chill of winter, we welcome the onset of Spring where we experience the budding of new life as nature wakes up and blooms once again.  Regardless of where we live it is also the starting gate of the astrological New Year when the Sun moves into the sign of Aries. This New Moon at 15 degrees, 17 minutes of Aries emotionally charges this energy, fusing our head and our hearts in a desire to move forward. Like the lone warrior charging down the hill, we are ready to activate our lives with determination and courage.

Aries is the cardinal fire sign full of independence and passion, with a moving energy that at times can run fearful and impatient. Aries is also the sign that draws stressful situations and circumstances to itself in the course of seeking courage.  Mars, the ruler of Aries is currently in the sign of Gemini increases communication, information seeking and information sharing. Remaining flexible and open to new ideas and changing circumstances is important, but be aware of the potential to go off in too many different directions which can lead to frustration, confusion and nervous system overload.

There are a number of aspects to weave into your understanding of this Moon. Jupiter in Sagittarius loosely trines the New Moon and offers the gift of hope, growth and opportunity, encouraging us to have faith in life. To hold onto our dreams and stretch further into life.  Jupiter adds some optimistic balance to these additional aspects to the Moon.

Saturn in Capricorn, the planet of reality and the teacher of self-discipline and patience makes a square to the Moon which can feel stressful.  This Moon can give us a feeling of needing to act immediately and there can be some value in that under certain circumstances. However, Saturn steps in and challenges us with the message that strategic planning and proper timing can bring better results than jumping in too quickly and unprepared.

Pluto and the South Node also in Capricorn are positioned closely with Saturn. The South Node can bring up old patterns, karmic issues and sometimes people from the past. We can either fall into repeat or consciously choose a higher path with a better outcome.  Pluto in Capricorn triggers old memories and hurts, calling us to shine some honest light on them in the continual process of healing. Pluto also brings us the message, individually and collectively to reach for our higher purpose with personal power fueled by integrity as well as the motivating emotional energy of this Moon.  Aries is ready to get started, so this is the time to form your ideas or needs, create your strategy and take the initiative on what you desire or have to attend to.

Something is calling each of us and we are getting the message that this is the time to begin and the potential of this New Moon to set in motion our productivity and reach a successful outcome is powerful. Activate your Inner Warrior and follow the wise guidance of your Inner Elder as you set your intentions for a new chapter of your journey!
