New Moon solar Eclipse in Capricorn JANUARY 5, 2019

On January 5th, at 5:28pm PST, the New Moon in the darkness of night will call us to create from our heart.  To plant the seeds of intention that renews hope, encourages growth and creates momentum for us to live our best lives on this first New Moon in the New Year.

This New Moon at 15 degrees, 25 minutes of Capricorn is also a partial Solar Eclipse and the first eclipse of the year. Eclipses create an energetic opening that can activate change. This opening offers opportunity to move forward in areas of our lives that need a break-through and seek expansion. Blocking some of the light for a short time, a Solar Eclipse gives us pause and the incentive to realign our sense of self and vitality. When guided by our intuition we find the motivation for personal growth that feeds our soul.

Capricorn is an earth sign that seeks integrity through the development of inner authority and mastery within the physical world. To do something significant. There can be a strong focus on career, but more broadly the accomplishment of something meaningful; a personal goal that requires a structured plan and deep commitment. Think of the mountain goat, who step by step, with unwavering determination, climbs the mountain to reach the highest peak.

During this New Moon there is a stellium (4 or more planets in one sign) of planets in Capricorn. Mercury and Saturn in Capricorn on one side of the Sun and Moon bring a strong message to use self-discipline and responsibility in the forming of a strategic plan grounded in realism. Pluto in Capricorn on the other side adds power to reach for our higher purpose with serious intent. The South Node reminds us to be aware of old karmic patterns around the misuse of power and control, as well as obsession which can lead to workaholism, isolation and emotional loneliness.

Additionally, Neptune in Pisces is making a stimulating sextile to the Moon and Saturn.   Neptune in its own sign is stronger energetically and both Neptune and Pisces open us to intuition and compassion. During this Moon if you can, find some time to be still. Meditation or any spiritual practice that quiets the mind can help us to hear and feel the messages that Neptune in Pisces brings each of us individually.  Expanding our consciousness, feeding our inspiration and creativity, healing our heart and guiding us on our personal and collective path.

One more cosmic influence that I feel is important to this New Moon Eclipse. The next day, January 6th, Uranus in Aries that has been retrograde since August 7, 2018 will station direct at 28 degrees, 36 minutes of Aries. This final station will begin the concluding movement through the last degrees of Aries and will facilitate additional change. Engaging intentionally with courageous motivation and activation of our individual and collective need for freedom and authenticity, moves us into 2019 with greater personal power.

2018 was a intense year of compelling change. The starting of the New Year gives us the chance to hit the reset button. To re-evaluate our selves, and our lives, to see where we can make some adjustments or improvement. A time when we challenge ourselves, and commit to resolutions and goals. Lean into your heart and feel what feels right. For you. For what you desire to create and accomplish. For what will deepen your life with meaning and purpose as you set forth into 2019!
