NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN
DECEMBER 28/29, 2016
URANUS IN ARIES STATION DIRECT
DECEMBER 29, 2016
Life is full of cycles…and the cycles of the Moon affect our mood, the way we feel, respond, and interact with others, and with our life circumstances. When we become conscious of how the Moon affects us, and actively participate, we can feel more connected to the natural order of the lunar cycles. We are given the opportunity to explore and grow from what we each individually find in these transits; our heart connection to nature, our inner world, and our outer lives.
The New Moon is the phase of starting over, new beginnings, where the darkness is the fertile bed of creation. Out of nothingness…imagination, desire, purpose rises up and something begins to take shape. The New Moon helps us to wake up and get started. To formulate and activate. To create heartfelt momentum fueled by what we need, what we desire. The New Moon is pure potential, pointing the way…..
There are cycles within cycles. The New Moon begins a cycle of 28 days, and gives us the experience of emotional renewal from New Moon to New Moon. And then there are yearly cycles. I found it interesting that the first New Moon of 2016 was in Capricorn, and last New Moon is in Capricorn. The first New Moon of 2016 was rather supportive for the beginning of a new year. We were given a clean slate to begin again, with the steadfast qualities of Capricorn to set in motion and accomplish New Year resolutions. To hopefully do it better than before.
And so even though it is the last few days of 2016, we are experiencing a cycle of new beginnings. Giving us a bit of a head start before we set forth on 2017. Now at the end of 2016, on December 28th, 11:53pm MST, the New Moon is 7 degrees, 59 minutes of Capricorn. For those of you in the Midwest and East coast, this Moon occurs December 29th, 12:53am, CST, and 1:53am EST.
During Moon phases, our feelings are tuned up. This New Moon in Capricorn will open intuitive channels, ushering in what matters to you most and what you are willing to work for. As we end this year, and the New Year is just around the corner…what do you want to accomplish? What would you like 2017 to look like.…for you, personally? How do you wish to move forward, and what might the challenges be to do so? Where will integrity, inner strength, wisdom, commitment, and self-discipline support you the most? What do you need to do to develop, deepen, and bring forth your personal authority? How can you participate in greater worldly causes that matter to you?
These are all important questions and during this New Moon, and getting in touch with your feelings about these issues is the first step. Take some quiet time to know what is right for you. If you are so inclined, do some journaling. Writing things down can help create structure. Then if possible, share your thoughts with a trusted friend or family member. Doing this can help to formulate and organize direction and goals. With Mercury in Capricorn sitting right next to the Moon and the Sun in Capricorn, communication is valuable. There will be serious conversations, important decisions that can set the stage for your future.
And another important transit. Tomorrow, December 29, 2016, transiting Uranus, which has been retrograde since July 29th, will station direct at 20 degrees, 33 minutes of Aries. During this 5 month retrograde, we each were given to opportunity to delve deeper into our consciousness and glean insight as to what we need to awaken to, individually and collectively. What is truly authentic? For each of us? What are the fears that stand in our path to “being who we really are?” What changes need to occur? And how do we face and cultivate the courage, the drive, the method to realize the life we genuinely feel we came here to live? As Uranus begins its forward movement and gains momentum, we will begin to understand where and how changes or adjustments can be beneficial to being true to ourselves.
I want to add a side note about Uranus, because I want everyone to know, that sometimes, for some, maybe for many, and certainly myself, it takes time to really know who you are and what you need to do and be, to live a life that feels authentic and true. Because at different times in our lives, we grow and we change, and we want different life experiences. That in the process, which truly I believe is a lifetime process, we sometimes get it wrong, and sometimes we get it right. I do encourage anyone that I know or work with to do their best to get it right, because it is important and does make a difference. With that said, I must stress…that in what I feel, think, and write, please remember that my words hold no judgement, no matter what post I send out, about any planetary influence. With love, compassion and empathy, my intention is to share astrological information that can provide insight and support, to you my readers, as you navigate your lives.
It certainly has been a somber year. Where we’ve all experienced or seen, what seems like many issues surrounding figures of authority, the misuse of power, people standing up for greater freedom, environmental, social, political issues. The need for more than ever, integrity, in the face of what seems like a great breakdown of honor in many parts of the world. A year that flooded us with images and information. A year where we as a human race have taken in, either first hand, or through media, a wide range of knowledge, experiences and events that required us to find something stronger, something wiser, something greater within ourselves. A serious fortitude to keep going, to heal, and to infuse our lives with a deeper sense of purpose and meaning. Yet, with all the loss and challenges that have occurred, we rise up, to still find joy, to open to goodness, to share love.
I wish you all a peaceful, love filled, joyful, and safe New Years! And may 2017 bring you opportunity, hope, abundance, peace, and love!!
