new Moon in Scorpio
november 7, 2018
The New Moon is a time of creation. Of setting intentions. We can’t see the New Moon, just as we can’t see the entire process and outcome of a new idea, path, or deep desire. There is unknowing and yet, the heart leads us into our depths where we are called to begin again.
On November 7, 2018 at 8:01am this New Moon in Scorpio at 15 degrees, 11 minutes compels us to reach within our heart and soul to understand how we are feeling and to have honest and meaningful sharing with loved ones and significant people. To have conversations that are real, can no longer wait and go to the heart of any pressing matter.
Scorpio is water, deep water with an edge. Passionate, private, focused and thorough, Scorpio lives and feels life intensely, sometimes with an all or nothing attitude. Scorpio can be painfully honest and at times falls into moodiness and excessive self-absorption if perspective is lost. However with a natural inclination for the dark aspects of life, those with strong Scorpio energy can show up under the most dire of circumstances; holding space until the light returns, when others may shy away.
Scorpio’s natural skepticism and focus probes deeply for the truth. The truth within and the truth in the outer world. On this New Moon what truth do you seek? What messages arise in your consciousness for attention? What asks for release or healing? We all have personal and collective issues and desires that motivate us and at different times in our lives become more intense so that we will pay attention. And this New Moon is one of those times of acute awareness and renewal.
There are some other aspects during this Moon that influence this emotionally charged time. Transiting Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio and in the sign of Capricorn is in a very tight conjunction with the asteroid Vesta and these two make a supportive and stimulating sextile with the Moon. This aspect brings power, opportunity and integrity to strive for higher meaning in our lives, as well as the devotion needed to stoke the fire of what truly matters to us. When we commit to feeding the fire of our higher purpose and passion, even when it feels difficult to do so, over time transformation occurs within ourselves and in our lives.
Then transiting Neptune in Pisces creates a supportive trine to this Moon bringing intuition, sweet grace and compassion to Scorpio’s intensity, focus and potential sting. This gentle energy has the potential to soften some of the emotional storminess of this Moon, while still supporting an honest and cathartic process; with ourselves and with others.
And in the background, yet very significant is transiting Uranus who has been in Aries for 7 years and last May transited into Taurus where it will remain until November 6, 2018. At that time transiting Uranus retrograde will move back into Aries until March 6, 2019, when Uranus will move back into Taurus and remain for 7 years.
This retrograde into Aries will give us all another opportunity to look deeply at the fears and frustrations around issues of freedom and authenticity. Changes will continue to occur, within us and around us. There is evidence of change, radical change in many aspects of life as we’ve known it. It’s all part of the bigger picture and the process of human awakening as Uranus wakes us up to who we are, not who we think we are.
During this time, pay attention to frustrations and anger and how you move through the world. Take time to step back and observe, to breathe, and to consciously make decisions and take action. Aries is a quick energy, but be careful of moving too fast without a deep self-awareness. Remember that this is a process like all astrological influences where we are called to participate on purpose. There is great value in this process. It’s all about being authentic, and many times in the face of disapproval or opposition. Ultimately Uranus pushes us (especially in Aries) to courageously claim our true self and to move forward in the direction that feels right for us.
During this Moon our deepest feelings, memories, and issues will become sharper, more intense. We are asked to look into our shadow and face our fears, regrets and old wounds. To embrace our wholeness, the dark and the light, knowing that we don’t have to continue to live from the painful choices and memories that once held us back, but instead as we continue to heal, we move forward with greater awareness, fortitude, personal power and integrity….and love.
