FULL MOON IN SCORPIO
The Full Moon reveals. When the Moon reaches its cyclical peak and illuminates the night sky we are able to see in the dark because the light is so bright. Astrologically and energetically this translates within consciousness; and we see. We realize something within ourselves, within our life, or in someone or something else. If we intentionally engage with the Full Moon, we recognize that we are in a heightened awareness that calls for something. An acknowledgement, a decision, an action. In the water sign of Scorpio, the Full Moon takes us down the path into our psyche overturning new and old stones.
Scorpio, ruled by Pluto is a sign that seeks depth, intensity, and the truth; even the most uncomfortable ones. Scorpio carries the energy of transformation that occurs when out of the ashes something emerges. This Moon is not a gentle one and for some more challenging than others. It pulls off our blinders and reveals our reality in front of our eyes and within our heart. Emotions can flood our senses and we can experience overwhelm seeing only the underside of people or situations. Those with personal planets in Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius may feel it more intently. However, it truly depends on the individual birthchart and level of self-awareness. I do recommend if appropriate to share from the heart in conversation with a trusted friend or loved one, especially if it seems overly intense. Or possibly writing out thoughts and feelings. Sometimes getting them out of our head and heart and onto paper helps with our personal mindset. And breathe. In doing so, the process of mining deeply within is more manageable and perspective can be restored.
The Sun, which is always opposite during a Full Moon, is currently in the sign of Taurus. Earthy and oriented to security and resources of all kinds, Taurus during this intense lunar cycle, reminds us to breathe and ground ourselves. To always remember that there is beauty and abundance within us and in the world. That we can activate our calm center within our senses that serves us as we delve into our personal psychological biography to further understand and heal within.
Adding to this lunar energy is transiting Jupiter in a very loose conjunction with the Moon. However, at 19 degrees Scorpio, Jupiter is still close enough to expand and magnify the Scorpio energy. Currently retrograde, Jupiter offers reflection and the potential for greater hope and faith as we squarely face our deep motivations and issues that are needing our attention. Transiting Neptune in Pisces trines the Moon increasing intuition and misting gentle inspiration and guidance over this intensely focused lunar energy. And as the Moon continues to move closer to Jupiter, by early afternoon on the 30th these two will meet up and expand this energy even more.
Transiting Saturn retrograde in Capricorn forms a sextile (which is stimulating) to the Moon, highlighting the importance of a practical plan and serious application. And transiting Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio is in a close conjunction with transiting Mars. Pluto, also retrograde in Capricorn compels us to understand what is truly meaningful to each of us, and then to do the work to achieve our goals with wisdom, discipline and commitment. This is a long and at times arduous and painful process, yet one that we are all going through for a reason. To learn about ourselves; why we are here and to live a life that matters. Mars in Capricorn in close and brief contact with Pluto during this Moon charges this transformative energy with courage and activates our path with purpose.
The gift in all Full Moons is deeper heart centered self-awareness and when necessary the ability to release. In Scorpio we are given another round of peering inward to understand our deepest motivations and to heal our wounds and release their hold on us. This Moon calls us to embrace all of our pieces, all of ourselves. Our shadow and our light. To claim wholeness, yet hold the wisdom through the work that we’ve done, that we can determine what parts we live from.
