Full Moon in Pisces
September 6, 2017
In the early morning of September 6, 2017, at 1:02am MDT, the Moon will be in Full Light in the sign of Pisces, 13 degrees, 53 minutes. During the Full Moon, the light is bright, the energy is potent, and we feel more intensely. We can finally be ready to make a decision, have the heart to share our feelings, or experience that a-ha moment when everything clicks into place…and we just know.
This Full Moon is in the water sign of Pisces, adding a depth and breadth to the intuitive and psychic senses, and impressions. Pisces is gentle, idealistic, compassionate, and creative, and the message it brings is to open to our essence, to seek self-transcendence. To acknowledge that each of us are part of the collective consciousness and in that; we are all One.
Neptune currently in the sign of Pisces, as well as the ruler of Pisces is in a tight conjunction with this Moon adding even more sensitivity. Neptune is the doorway to higher consciousness. When we are in the middle of a daydream or dreaming in sleep, we are swimming with Neptune. Neptune shows us that there is more to life than meets the eye. With all of this highly perceptive energy, it can be very easy to blur the lines between reality and fantasy. Both Neptune and Pisces can feed into the strong potential of seeing things through rose colored glasses, so be very aware of this as you navigate this lunar phase.
Also, shortly before the Full Moon, transiting Mercury which has been retrograde for the past three weeks will station direct at 28 degrees, 25 minutes of Leo, which is the same degree as the recent New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo. This significant placement of Mercury’s station will help activate our intentions we held during the Solar Eclipse. Transiting Mars, 00 degree of Virgo, will conjunct with (out of sign) Mercury in Leo. This additional astrological energy stresses the importance of using discernment and careful planning as well as providing extra motivation and needed actions to achieve our intentions with excellence and forethought.
Life is busy and many of us are so involved with the everyday activities and responsibilities that we lose touch with how we are feeling. We experience disconnect with nature and its cycles. With being still, and taking some time to reconnect…to feel…deeply. To actively engage with the energy through our intentions. I believe the Moon cycles and the feelings they invoke, speak to us and help us remember that we are part of the natural world, that we truly are one with everything. And the Full Moon in Pisces is Moon energy that seeks to open us to that universal truth.
It’s important to keep in mind that the Full Moon, Pisces, and Neptune, all increase our emotions in certain ways. Our sense of compassion, love for humanity, and inspiration can increase. A desire to develop spiritually and connect with something greater than ourselves can call us. Creativity can flow. So can confusion, apathy, and emotional overwhelm. And be aware of the potential of feeling like you need to escape….in ways that won’t help, but could make things worse. Be gentle with yourself. Talk with a friend to find a more positive way. And if we see others struggling, this Moon asks that we open our hearts and be a bridge of support, where we lift another up through kindness and empathy.
Meditation of any kind, thoughtful conversation, or prayer can be grounding during this highly ethereal Full Moon. Connect with and honor the blessings of water through hot springs, ocean waves, or simply a relaxing bath. Stay hydrated. Pay attention to your dreams, day and night. Create the space to open to your higher guidance. There is wisdom in this Moon for us all, individually and collectively.
And something else....the power of water. The power to bring life and heal, and the power to destroy. We have witnessed the life changing devastation that water can bring, through the years with hurricanes. And this most recent one, Hurricane Harvey which unleashed a record amount of rainfall and flooding. I thought about this and it is as if we are being rained on and flooded with a crucial message. That in the washing away of all of belongings and the comfort of everyday life; we are brought to a common denominator. We all are humans. That’s it. We need many of the same basic things, and during a major natural disaster, we all experience devastation and grief. In these times, when life shifts dramatically, we are given the challenging opportunity to value the blessing of life, to recognize that we are all connected, and that we need to be there for each other.
As the outer world becomes more loudly divisive, this Full Moon massages our hearts to open up to the message of Pisces and Neptune. To live in compassion, generosity and love. To remember that we are a spark of the divine. That we can in any given moment, with consciousness, make a higher, more humane and compassionate decision. About who we are, what we do, how we treat ourselves and others, and all of nature. That our divine interconnectedness and essence of love ignites within us, and has the power to create unity in our outer world.
