Here we are at the beginning of another year; a time when many of us feel we can begin again and make this year better, using New Year’s resolutions to define our intentions. Astrologically, 2011 will have a broad flavor of transition, endings and new beginnings, due to the major ingresses (changing of signs) occurring in Pisces and Aries, the last and first signs of the zodiac.
Also, we begin the year with another eclipse, and as eclipses bring us unique energies to release old patterns and create change in our lives, this first eclipse of the year is a wonderfully powerful time to consciously know and proclaim what it is we want to create within our lives.

On January 4th, the partial solar eclipse in Capricorn gives an extra power boost to this New Moon in Capricorn, fueling our ability to set our intentions with personal integrity, commitment, and follow though, creating what is meaningful, solid, and lasting. JUPITER CONJUNCTS URANUS
Also on January 4th Jupiter makes it’s final meetup with Uranus in the sign of Pisces, fusing faith, opportunity, big dreams (Jupiter) with genius, change, and authenticity (Uranus). As these two planets will be in the last degrees of Pisces, compassionate idealism, inspiration, and divine love are higher expressions of this aspect. There is also the idea of release…of letting go and making sacred space, to allow something new and more aligned to your true desire and purpose to develop.
JUPITER CONJUNCTS ARIES
On January 23rd, Jupiter will move into the sign of Aries bringing a renewed energy and desire to get going; start something new, and this may be the surge of energy needed to get your previously inspired vision off the ground. Or it could be the beginning of something entirely new and having the initiative and spunk to set off on a path yet discovered. Keep in mind that Jupiter can create too much, too often, and get you in over your head. SATURN GOES RETROGRADE IN LIBRA
On January 26th, , Saturn will go retrograde in the sign of Libra. Saturn is the planet of reality and this will be a time when relooking at significant relationships can be called for and useful. A time when issues may come up, and it may feel challenging, but it can be a time to determine changes that can strengthen and solidify the connections that are meaningful.
